On Wednesday night we had missionary from Lebanon come and preach. I wish I had his name (I will have to ask my husband.) His preaching greatly impacted, convicted and challenged me. He told a story that I pray I never forget,
"I wanted to teach my son a lesson about faith and believing God. So I took him to an American steak house. I told him to order whatever he wanted. He ordered a steak. The waitress asked how he wanted it cooked and he said, 'medium'. She said, 'okay. What would you like with your steak?' He said, 'A baked potato and a half lemonade, half iced tea to drink.' She walked away. He didn't doubt that his steak would come. He didn't doubt that his drink would come. If fact he had total confidence that the waitress would come back with his food. He didn't have to beg her. You know why? Because Daddy was paying for the food.!!"
Jesus paid the price on Calvary so that we would be able to come come Him in full assurance for our miracle! He was bruised, beaten and chastised for us... so that we could come to the throne of grace with boldness. Justified by His precious blood!! We don't have to beg for a miracle.. plead with him.. and pray over and over again. When we pray in faith, consider it done. Because daddy paid for it!
There are things that I have stopped praying about-- not that I doubted God could do it.. but because we tend to put things on the shelf when we don't hear an answer for a while. I want to encourage you all! Believe God again!! Its time to believe for the miracles that you need in your life, whatever they may be!!
What are you believing God for? What can you dust off from the shelf and pray about again?
