I kept my mini twists in until the 3 week mark. MAJOR record for me :) Go Kendra! One of the problems you can come across with mini twists, mini braids or really any protective style that you wear for an extended period of time are dry ends. I want to share with you how to combat that issue and keep your ends looking healthy and fresh.
You will need:
-Water
-Conditioner or leave in conditioner
My water bottle contains water and rosemary essential oil. For the conditioner I used Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deeper Moisture Conditioner. You can find this conditioner at Target.
Take a small section and pull back the rest of your hair. The smaller the section the easier it will be to be sure that all of your ends get moisturized properly.
Saturate your ends with water. Work the water in with your fingers.
Apply a generous amount of conditioner to the ends of your hair. Make sure to work it in with your fingers well. You can also use your fingers to work out any knots or kinks.
Bantu knot the section and move on. This is what I did. You can twist the section, flexi rod the section, braid the section.. whatever you choose.
Results?
My ends were smooth as silk! I was very amazed with how well this method worked for me. My ends had no tangles, and curled beautifully. I will definitely keep this method in mind for the next time I wear mini twists. Hope this helps!
